History

Faculty of Agricultural Technology originated from Agriculture section of Chantaburi Teacher College in 1972. The primarily course was education certificate program. In 1974, the higher education certificate program in agricultural major was started.

In 1975, Teacher College Act B.E. 2518 was announced and started. According to Teacher College Act B.E. 2518, Agriculture section was promoted as Agriculture Department in Faculty of Science. Bachelor of Education in Agriculture course has been started following on Teacher College Act B.E. 2519.

In 1984, Agriculture Department separated from Faculty of Science and founded as Faculty of Agriculture and Industry simultaneously with the other 6 Teacher Colleges such as Chadrakasem Teacher College, Petchaburi Teacher College, Petchaburi Witthaya Longkorn Teacher College, Pibool Songkram Teacher College, Ubon Ratcha Thani Teacher College and Song Kla Teacher College. Faculty of Agriculture and Industry consisted of 3 departments namely; Agriculture department, Agricultural Industry department and Agricultural Extension and Communication department. The course was Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree.

In 1995, Rajabhat Institution Act B.E. 2538 was announced. According to Rajabhat Institution Act B.E. 2538, Dean was started to be the highest executive of Faculty.

On 12 October 1999, according to the Notification of Ministry of Education on the allocation of the government sectors in Rambhai Barni Rajabhat Institution, the name of Faculty was changed to Faculty of Agricultural Technology with 7 courses in Diploma and Bachelor’s Degree.

On 13 June 2002, the head office of Faculty was shifted from Building 21 to the present Building (22).

On 10 June 2004, King Bhumibol Adulyadej has given the signature in the Act of Rajabhat Institution B.E. 2547. On 14 June 2004, the Act was effective in the Government Gazette. Therefore, the institution has been promoted to Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University on 15 June 2005 since then.

On 8 March 2005, the Ministry of Education has launched Ministerial Regulation on the allocation of the government sectors in Rambhai Barni Rajabhat University B.E. 2005 and founded the Faculty of Agricultural Technology as a government sector under the Ministry of Education.
